Mimi Bix-Hylan, MA, MSW, LICSW (she/her)
Mimi provides culturally affirming treatment across the lifespan to individuals, couples and families. Mimi also supports educational leaders on anti-racism & anti-bias.
Her work is grounded in the principles of evidence-based treatments for trauma including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Theory, and Narrative & Solution-Focused Therapies. She is Internal Family Systems (IFS) informed. Mimi has extensive experience treating individuals living with historical and racialized trauma, identity issues, depression, anxiety, ADHD, and developmental disorders.
Mimi believes in the restorative power of nature and offers opportunities for interested clients to learn how to develop an intentional relationship with nature.
Mimi is Japanese American. She is bicultural and bilingual in English and Japanese. She has master’s degrees in both Social Work and Education, and over 25 years of professional experience in psychotherapy, consulting, and teaching. Mimi earned her Master’s in Education from the University of Michigan Ann Arbor and her Master’s of Social Work from Simmons College in Boston.
